Jeff Weisheit, a senior at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, to play golf. ECU is in the Lone Star Conference, Division II.
Jeff has played on the Marcus golf team the past four years. His high school career was highlighted by reaching the regional tournament as a medalist in April, 2007 as a junior. Jeff scored a 10-under-par 62 during the second round of the Randy Smith Classic presented by the Lubbock Sports Authority in August, 2007. Jeff’s round tied Stewart Whitt's 10-under-par 62 in 2002 as the lowest score in relation to par in AJGA history. Jeff’s score of 62, recorded at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas broke the previous course record held by Geoff Ogilvy, 2006 US Open Champion. Jeff maintains a 3.0 GPA and he intends to work on his Bachelor of Science and then pre-med.
