For our fifth annual Citywide Feast, First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Lewisville invites everyone to join us for a joyous and FREE celebration of Thanksgiving Day.  If you are new to our area, or if turkey prices are a little out of reach, or if you want to make some new friends, or you just plain want someone else to do that good ole’ down-home cooking, today’s your day. Thanksgiving is a day of praise for the bounty God has given us.  It’s a day for sharing food and friendship.  It’s a day for recognizing all our blessings.  We believe we share God’s love best when we share it with those who are in need.  Whether you are in need of a good hot meal or a warm and friendly place to be, we will fill that need for you.

This tradition began in 2005 when we served about 250 people.  Each year the number of invited guests at our table has grown. We prepare every year for more and more people to join us and we’re never disappointed.  We’re prepared with more turkeys than we can count and all the traditional side dishes and desserts that go with it.  We don’t like to brag, but the ladies who contribute their time and cooking skills are just about the best cooks you can find this side of your grandma’s house. The turkeys will be furnished by Christian Community Action and FUMC. The Village Grill once again donates the use of their equipment. The Grotto, Girl Scouts of America and First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville join with the parishioners of FUMC of Lewisville to ensure there’s no shortage of food and service for all.

If you would like to contribute goods, services, or help with cooking or serving, contact the church office at 972-436-2533. The food is fabulous; the people are friendly and welcoming; and the price is right – FREE. Please come and help us set a new record for serving our community. We’ll be serving from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. FUMC is located at 907 W Main at Summit in Lewisville. We will be expressing our gratitude to God in Worship Services at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.  You are warmly invited to join us in worship before dinner if you wish.
