On Thursday, June 3, McAuliffe Elementary School, at 2300 Briarhill Blvd. in Highland Village, held an event called Team Xtreme. The event was to raise awareness of the opening of The Harvest Church International, a non-denominational church serving the Highland Village, Flower Mound, Lewisville community. The services will be held each Sunday at 10 a.m. in Briarhill Middle School, 2100 Briarhill Blvd. in Highland Village. The Harvest Church, with Pastor Brad Tuttle, a Team Xtreme leader at the helm, hopes to positively impact the lives of the residents in this community. Their goal is to teach, motivate, inspire, and challenge individuals to reach their potential, no matter their background or experiences. They also offer children’s church that is both fun and educational for ages from birth through 5th grade. Moreover, Men’s, Women’s and Youth Life Groups meet regularly to fellowship and grow spiritually, so that they can live a fulfilled life. This month they will begin THRIVE, a life group to enhance and revitalize marriages.
Team Xtreme (an outreach ministry of the church), was one of four guest speakers at McAuliffe Elementary and presented at what is called, “Middle School University Night.” Jennifer Mattingly, the principal at McAuliffe, organized the event to prepare her 5th grade students for their transition to middle school. The Harvest Church understands the importance of reaching, equipping, and engaging young men and women in healthy choices as they navigate the turbulent years of middle and high school. Team Xtreme focuses on educating students about the realities of drug and alcohol usage and empowers them to maintain a firm stance against involvement in substance abuse. The Harvest Church International is dedicated to helping enrich the lives of the citizens in their church, neighborhood, and world. This event was just the beginning of their efforts to get involved. In addition, they are exploring ways to support the Children’s Advocacy Center and their members will be volunteering for projects organized by Greater Lewisville Cares.
Team Xtreme is a cutting edge, evangelistic ministry that has been around the world performing awesome feats of strength and sharing the love of God for over 10 years. The guys that make up this exciting team do incredible feats of strength like smashing stacks of concrete bricks, snapping baseball bats, tearing phone books, bending steel bars in their teeth, and coupling that with a powerful message of hope, purpose, and new life through Christ. The unique aspect of Team Xtreme is that it is made up of men from The Harvest Church International itself, and is led by the Sr. Pastor, Brad Tuttle, who has been involved in strength team ministry, and world evangelism for over 23 years. What that means is that Team Xtreme has a heart for the local communities, schools, and families. Because Brad Tuttle and Team Xtreme are planted in a local community they have a great passion for reaching out to those surrounding communities through sharing the message of Christ's love in word and deed, and by reaching into the local schools with a non-religious message that challenges the kids and youth to make the right decisions in life. Team Xtreme also plays a part in helping those in need through clothing and food drives. The Harvest Church wants the community to know that they are here to be a resource for them and their families.
