The LLL January Meeting: Rabbie Burns Night

Tuesday, January 19, 6:30 p.m., with a Social/Dinner afterward. Up for a little poetry reading, authentic Highland dancing or some bagpipe tunes?  A toast to the lassies as they put on a local Rabbie Burns supper, featuring a Scottish feast and entertainment!  Rabbie (Robert) Burns was an 18th century Scottish poet.  One of his best known poems is Auld Lang Syne which is generally sung at New Year celebrations.  Every January, suppers are held throughout Scotland to celebrate Burns’ life and poetry.  Don’t miss this fun and cultural evening with traditional Scottish food, dancers and a bagpiper to pipe in the haggis!  Wear your tartan (if you have one) or anything plaid will do.  For more information email Esther Irwin at irwin5355@grandecom.net.

Lantana Ladies League - Past Event

Results of Amazing Race in Limo Style, held November 17, and the winners of the LLL’s Amazing Race are . . . the Sassy Lassies! Drama, suspense and excitement were all part of the league’s version of the popular television reality show, Amazing Race.  Nine teams drove around in limousines with a total of 76 women participants and competed throughout an 8-mile radius in search of clues. The first team to arrive back at headquarters, having found all the clues, was the winner of the race. Sassy Lassie member Esther Irwin said, “The race was a blast.  We had a fantastic time and our team worked so well together, pitching in to solve the clues!” Sharing the spotlight with Irwin are Rhonda Williams, Sally Pierry, Alison Flener, Sharon Hill, Sharon Kominek, Elena Moore and Tiffany Galarza.  Congratulations to the Sassy Lassies; these gals know how to put the petal to the metal!

Hats off to Program Coordinator, Melanie Watson for all her planning and preparation work.  Also, special thanks to Wings, Pizza and Things for serving as the official event headquarters and league members Carol Reinbeau, Diana Carey, Joni Carlton and Jennye Wilsey for all their efforts in making this event a success!?
