In reference to above chart, Our Daily Bread has basic hygiene items for those who need it. Village Church is only Thanksgiving Day. Denton Community food is 1p – 3p, M-F. Little Elm Food Bank is for Little Elm, Oak Point & Lakewood Village only. First United Methodist is a community dinner on Thanksgiving.

Highland Village Police Chief Ed O’Bara, along with the department’s “Community Services Unit,” embarked on a quest to identify those service agencies in our N-Texas community that were dedicated and able to serve the needs of our citizens struggling to make ends meet during this holiday season. The screening criteria included:

1. The ability to assist with food baskets, "hot meals," clothing, shelter, toys, or limited financial support.

2. No restrictions (Valid ID, SS number, Proof of Employment or Residence, Must be Client or Member, etc.) or cumbersome applications in order to receive assistance.

Upon calling more than (50) listed service agencies in our region, they were able to confirm that the attached list of organizations (12) met these criteria and were ready to and willing to serve the needs of our communities. The quick reference “pocket card” (photo) is an easy to use tool for field officers, schoolteachers and administrators to disseminate to those in need.
