Appreciates honest reportage

Mr. Weir, I enjoy all your Weir Only Human columns, but I especially liked the one on Dec. 11 (Even the Mafia has whistleblowers). Your honesty in reporting is a refreshing change from those writers who sometimes tend to gloss over or try to hide the warts on our politicians and public officials (including the police).  One of my favorite articles you wrote is the one on Ted Kennedy.  While the T.V., magazines, and other news media were shouting the praises of this man, you told the brutal truth about his lack of ethics, improprieties, and sometimes illegal deeds. I suspect that one day you may expose some of the ugliness that one of Dallas' former mayors participates in after we sent him to congress.  It didn't take him long to decide, "If ya can't beat 'em... join 'em."  Just as a matter of interest; what is the difference between bribery and lobbying?  Would it have anything to do with a person’s social standing or lack thereof? Keep up the good work.  Without your vibrant words and honesty, the sheep will continue to follow and never question the integrity of those who hold the stick.
