Performing as one of top 27 schools in the competition this past Saturday, October 10, in Little Elm, the reigning 3A state champion Argyle Eagle Band bested several excellent 4A and 5A high school bands and all of the 3A and under bands to earn second place overall in the Classic on the Lake Marching Contest. Overall event champion was 5 A Rowlett High School, with an admirable performance. Third place went to 5A high school band from Sasche. Argyle also received multiple honors as top 3A band winning captions in Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best General Effect.
Argyle will complete the 2009 (a non state year) marching season with their performance at the Region 2 UIL Marching Contest at Northwest High School on Wednesday, October 21.
