     Flower Mound’s Connor Adams was one of several local runners recently selected to the Dallas Morning News’ 2009 All-Area Track and Field team, which was announced last Thursday.

    The Guyer boys’ track team finished sixth overall at the Class 4A state meet last weekend.

     The Wildcats finished with 32 points, five behind second place Waxahachie. Guyer finished second in every event they competed in, including pole vault, the mile relay and the 400.

Members of the Guyer track program hope for quick times and huge success at this weekend’s Class 4A Region I meet in San Angelo.

The event – which will feature the best athletes in Region I with a chance to go to the state meet – will be held Friday and Saturday at San Angelo State University. Field events begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, followed by relay/running prelims at 6 p.m.
